Echo does not require an account, and the quotes themselves work without an internet connection. Your saved quotes and settings are stored on your device.
The current version does not include advertising or an advertising SDK.
The following is kept in local storage on your phone. It is not transmitted to us and we cannot read it:
These preferences are kept in Echo's private app storage, protected by Android's app sandbox. Clearing Echo's storage or uninstalling it removes its local data.
Depending on your Android and device settings, this data — including saved quotes, recent viewing history, Echo schedules, settings, widget reflections and technical flags — may be included in your Google account backup or transferred to a new device. Backup copies are managed separately through Android and your backup provider; uninstalling Echo does not itself remove those copies, and Android may restore them when you reinstall or move to another device. We cannot access or delete your backup.
Echo does not send your local reading history, saved quotes, personal widget reflections or settings to the developer. The app has no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no accounts and no server of its own. We do not build a profile of you and we do not sell data.
Echo uses the Google Play In-App Review API to open a Play Store review flow. Google handles any rating or review you choose to submit under its terms. Published reviews are public; feedback submitted in a closed testing track may be shared privately with the developer. The Echo app does not receive your review text through this API. You can manage or delete reviews through Google Play.
Echo also uses the Play Engage SDK to publish a non-personalized daily quote from its bundled library as a recommendation to supported Google surfaces. Your saved quotes, preferences, personal widget reflections and recent viewing history are not included. Google's services are subject to the Google Privacy Policy.
If you email support, the developer receives your email address and whatever you include in the message through the email provider. We use and retain that correspondence to answer and follow up on your inquiry. You can contact the address below to request access to or deletion of your support correspondence.
The optional widget shows a quote directly on your home screen using Echo’s light or dark theme. You can receive a different quote from Echo’s library each day, keep one chosen quote in place, cycle through a personal selection of up to ten saved quotes, or write one reflection of your own for the widget. Your choices and personal reflection stay on your device. Tapping a library quote opens it in Echo.
The current release contains no advertising integration. If advertising is introduced in a future release, this policy and the app's Google Play declarations will be updated to describe the provider and its data practices.
When you share a quote or set it as wallpaper, Echo renders an image in its local cache and gives the chosen app or Android wallpaper picker permission to read that image. You choose the destination or confirm the wallpaper. Echo does not upload the image itself or record the destination or recipients. Only a combined action count is kept locally for the review prompt described above.
Generated cache images are excluded from Echo's Android backup and can be removed by clearing its cache or uninstalling it. An image you send to another app, or a wallpaper you apply, may remain outside Echo; manage those copies in the destination app or Android settings. The receiving app's own privacy practices apply.
This policy website is hosted by Netlify. Opening it sends ordinary web-request information, including your IP address and browser request details, to the hosting provider to deliver and secure the page. The page itself contains no analytics scripts or advertising, and its fonts are hosted with the page. See Netlify's privacy information for information about the provider.
Echo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
There is no Echo account to delete. You can remove individual saved quotes or your personal widget reflection in the app. To remove Echo's local preferences and viewing history, clear its storage from Android settings or uninstall it. Backup copies, Google Play reviews, shared images and applied wallpapers are managed separately as described above.
We cannot access your private app storage or your Android backup. For questions about this policy or access to or deletion of support correspondence you sent us, use the contact address below.
If Echo's data practices change materially — for example if advertising or analytics are added — this policy and the app's Google Play declarations will be updated, and the date at the top will change.
